More RAM could improve performance when using Chrome.
I’m checking a tool I use in Chrome and wondering if boosting my RAM would improve its performance. I’ve noticed Chrome can consume a lot of memory, so I try to keep tabs and windows closed. I reach a point where the process slows or stalls, even though other programs run smoothly. My system has 16GB RAM and could go up to 32GB based on the specs. It’s an older Dell Optiplex running a DDR3 processor with a Core i5-3470 at 3.2GHz and Windows 10 Pro. The main issue is that only this app causes lag, making it hard to get accurate results quickly. Would adding more RAM help, or should I switch browsers instead?
Which initiative is this? Make sure it isn't just CPU usage or graphics problems.
