Could someone assist you in boosting your FPS? You're currently at 14 with an older NVIDIA GeForce 550 Ti and no budget for a new GPU.

It’s tough to make big changes, maybe just fix things. Performance boosts usually happen for a reason.

Plan carefully, that's what I'm doing. You've got enough funds to purchase a 1060 system after three and a half years of saving. You can save for something affordable like a 1050ti for $100, which will perform well in med/high settings at 1080p 60fps. Lower the settings if you haven't already and make the game run high priority. Focus on upgrading though—1050ti costs only $100, while a 1030 is around $60-70. -Lukas

Mostly just purchasing a fresh graphics card. With only 14 frames per second, even a slight boost won’t reach a practical 30 frames per second (the standard for TVs).

When I was sixteen, I didn’t have a job, but I saved for a long time and purchased a high-end computer at that time. It’s achievable, and you don’t require an expensive machine.

Operate at the minimum configurations. Beyond that, you need to accumulate and purchase a fresh card.

That video card is aging by the minute and wasn't even particularly fast when it was new. Unfortunately there is no cheap fix to that particular problem. I suggest limiting yourself to triple-A games from about 2013 and older, or some of the more lo-fi indie games out there. I know that may be a hard pill to swallow if you're dying to play GTA V or something, but there are hundreds of really amazing games out there that will run fine on a GTX 550 Ti.

Do you actually have the complete system details? The games you’re running that feel slow usually depend on specific hardware limits.
