You're looking to boost your gaming performance. Based on your current setup, upgrading the GPU might be the most effective way to reach higher FPS. However, some sources suggest the Ryzen 5 3600 may not hit 240 FPS. If you're considering a CPU upgrade, ensure it matches your GPU's capabilities and consider the overall system balance.

Upgrade your CPU to a 5800X3D and GPU to something like the 6700 XT. Aim for games that run at around 240 FPS, and share your budget and location with me.

I enjoy playing Fortnite and have a 240Hz monitor. I’m unsure about my budget, maybe I can upgrade one part at a time.

I recommend starting with a GPU upgrade to something like a 6700 XT or 7800 XT if possible. Once that's in place, you can later switch to a CPU such as the 5800X3D, or if you have a microcenter nearby, go for the 5600X3D.

If you miss the 5800X3D deadline, it could disappear because it's an older model and will soon stop being produced. You can always upgrade to a more powerful GPU later. However, it won't improve performance for the 1660S in any meaningful way.

I had the same idea too. I considered a 4060 or something like that. What do you think about it?

The 4060 requires a minimum of 650 watts. The 4060-TI offers 750 watts. Power supply unit.
