More affordable than 3600 times the price
As title states, at the micro center near me there is a sale which is making a 2700x cheaper than the 3600 I was going to upgrade to. Do y'all think this is a good deal, and if so would the b450 I planned on upgrading with still work on a 2700x. I use my computer for light, and I stress light, creator workloads I mostly game on it.
2700x and 3600 offer comparable performance. Extra cores could be beneficial depending on your tasks. B450 is built for the 2x00 series Ryzen processors, so it should function well with a 2700x.
I’d pick the 2700x since it’s $30 less, even though it has fewer cores. The 3600 is still not better than an 8700k, but it’s closer. A year ago the AMD fans claimed the 2700x was a better option because of its cores and lower price. It doesn’t really change the situation for me. Unless they’re being dishonest.
