Hello, welcome! I’m just getting started with setting up desktops and nearing the installation of Windows 10. Are there any affordable ways to get Windows 10 OEM or retail at a lower cost?

You can run W10 without enabling it, but expect a watermark in the lower corner and other restrictions. Some platforms sell inexpensive activation codes, though I haven’t tried them and I’m unsure about their reliability.

OEM price starts around $90, while retail is about $150. Anything below that likely comes from the grey market and may involve some risks.

Thank you, I'll proceed by downloading Windows 10 without activation and buying licenses during Black Friday.

Windows isn't a factor in BF's price reductions. Stores focus on what provides them with acceptable profit margins relative to their costs for Microsoft.
