Did the gadget come with a firmware restriction, admin key, or software for remote control? If yes, it might not allow wiping it to sell it, though it could be wiped first. You might reach out to HP if you bought it directly—they sometimes install software during Windows setup and can track details using serial numbers, but I wouldn’t rely on them much.
