I recently changed from DisplayPort to HDMI to connect my TV and monitor via an HDMI switch. Now my PC isn't recognizing the right specifications for the monitor over HDMI. I can't set the native resolution, it isn't marked as free sync compatible, and the previous highest refresh rate isn't available. The TV functions well—freesync and HDR are perfect. Monitor model: AOC AG493UCX 49" 5120x1440 120Hz ultrawide GPU: AMD 7900XTX. Cables are Ugreen HDMI 2.1 certified. Steps I tried: Reinstalled graphics drivers with DDU factory reset, updated monitor drivers from the manufacturer site, used different cables, and ran without the HDMI switch. Grr.

Is the switch compatible with HDMI 2.1? It seems to be targeting HDMI 2.0 or lower, not the newer version.

The switch claims to be 2.1, didn't see any proper certification for it however it is not the issue as a cable straight to the monitor yields the same results.

It looks like this panel has faced numerous problems. Searching online reveals many users reporting issues with the monitor’s performance and resolution display. Problems range from outdated GPUs to new ones not functioning properly. Be sure to update the monitor’s firmware if possible, along with the latest video drivers. If needed, troubleshoot step by step and check forums for potential fixes. AOC support appears inconsistent.
