This Dell AS501 Monitor isn't turning on properly. It seems like the display ratios aren't working correctly, and it would be great if it could function normally. The sound bar looks good, but there are no LEDs on the power button—only one near the bottom for audio output. I'm trying to figure out what might be causing the issue. I've checked the HDMI connections for both CPU and GPU, but nothing seems to fit.

Connecting to my PC has no effect, while linking to my Thinkpad x280 reveals a wired screen linked, but the monitor remains empty.

The as501 is a removable sound bar. These rectangular screens are available for 15 dollars. Likely issues are power supply failure or display burnout. Not worth repairing.

I found myself confused about that... The sound bar seems completely separate. Concerning the monitor, if it relies on outdated CCFL backlighting, it might mean the tubes are damaged or your power supply has bad capacitors or the LCD backlight inverter is malfunctioning. You'd likely spend around $5 to $10 ordering replacements and soldering them on yourself, while a new one at Goodwill or online marketplaces would cost about $20.

I’d probably buy a fresh monitor from a marketplace and leave the detachable speaker behind. It’s not worth spending time fixing it.
