I attempted to restore the BIOS to its default settings. Now the PC powers on but shows no screen. I’m unsure what steps to take next. I don’t have the full specs, but I can share a link if it would be useful. My system details are: CPU I5-10400F, GPU 3060ti, running 64-bit Windows. It’s a prebuilt Dell G5 5000 desktop.
Was die Maschine zuvor einwandfrei funktionieren?
Hello! The machine functioned properly before. I needed to adjust the BIOS for secure boot. Although it was already enabled, I pressed the "Reset to Default" button. After applying and exiting the BIOS, no output appeared. Yes, I followed all the steps you mentioned. I also tested with a different monitor and cables.
You performed an action matching a Clear CMOS setup. The system should function similarly to a standard procedure. POSTing should occur only if there’s an issue. You should still be able to access the BIOS screen. Have you rechecked clearing the CMOS memory? If you enter BIOS, check your RAM and SSD listings. Good luck!
You're checking if you're properly clearing the CMOS memory. From what you said, removing the battery, waiting a few minutes, and then reinserting it seems correct. Doing this twice is fine. If you can't reach the BIOS, make sure your tools are compatible and try a different method.
Check the RTC reset option to determine its effectiveness. https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us...ll-systems
It may be that the default BIOS settings may have reset boot or display related settings. Try recovering the BIOS from the original hard drive. https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us...-or-tablet If that doesn't work, there's a method 2 for flashing the BIOS with the same recovery keys.
