Hello, I’ve just switched from a GTX 1070 to an RTX 3060 Ti. It’s been a mixed experience. I’m still dealing with frequent crashes while playing games, even though I push the system hard. Here’s a rundown of my setup: AMD Ryzen 2600X, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, Twin Edge Gigabyte Aorus B450 Elite, Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR4 3333MHz (2x8), 12M 650W Samsung NVMe M.2 SSD, Seagate 1TB HDD, Western Digital 240GB Green SSD, plus a few RGB case fans.

Before the upgrade, I rarely faced issues, but now crashes happen every couple of minutes to hours depending on the game. I’ve tested Cyberpunk 2077 with Patch 2.0 and Phantom Liberty DLC, as well as Forza Horizon 5. Benchmarks show the GPU hits around 76°C, CPU around 75°C. Rocket League is the only game that never crashes completely.

I’ve done everything possible—reinstalled Windows, fixed files, updated drivers, reinstalled Runtimes, and even tried a PSU upgrade. Nothing seems to work. I’m still trying to figure out what’s causing it, but it’s frustrating.

Consider relocating the graphics card to another system. This approach may resolve compatibility issues. Adjusting its performance settings could also indicate the hardware isn’t functioning correctly.

It seems the graphics card is faulty. Consider trying a different PCIe slot to see if it helps. However, it clearly appears to be a damaged GPU—reinstalling the OS three times and performing a full DDU check didn’t significantly improve the situation.

Consider trying a lower clock speed. I’ve experienced a similar issue with my 1660 Super before, and downclocking helped. For your RX 5700XT, it crashed during games but ran smoothly on benchmarks after adjusting the Core Clock and undervolting slightly, plus turning off the wallpaper engine. It seems those changes made a big difference.

You may have harmed your card if the DDU was done correctly or if you reinstalled the operating system without fixing it.

They mentioned you could switch the card to another identical one if needed. It depends on whether you want to keep the same model or not—consider your needs before deciding.

It's worth noting that the cards being sold are from ex-mining cards. The fact that this didn't stop me was because I've had some experience with crypto mining myself. I understand that if the person who originally purchased all the mining cards was savvy, they would have taken care to avoid overheating and likely adjusted the voltage settings.

Underclocking and power limiting may have a positive effect, but it doesn’t depend on the card model. It can still work regardless of the brand.

As Tetras mentioned, test the card on a different machine. Also, since 2023 comes along, upgrading to 32GB of RAM might be wise depending on your gameplay.
