I checked the latest ThinkPad X13 (AMD) and you can set it up on Lenovo's site with WWAN support.

It feels like an additional charge for getting a second SIM card, especially if you already have data on your device.

I understand. It’s possible some companies offer dedicated SIM cards just for staff who require constant connectivity. If the company covers the expense, it won’t add any charge to the employee’s bill.
