I'm searching for a modular psu that fits my old PC, needing 4 pins for the motherboard and 8 pins for the new graphics card I purchased.
My current power supply only has 2x 6-pin and 2x 4-pin connectors, and they advised against using adapters.
I don't want to invest too much and might find modular options more cost-effective.
Many boards have 6+2 connectors, but I haven't found any with 8 pins :/
Thank you for your help. Please let me know if you need further details.
I think I only need around 600 watts, and the new card is a 6650xt.
I saw one listing but it shows 6+2 :/

you have a 2x6pin to 1x8pin PCI-E adapter, it's a reliable converter priced around ten dollars. what is your existing power supply unit, its age, and how much are you looking for?

It's an old computer, but I need to upgrade it affordably. I thought I could just buy a basic graphics card instead of spending more. The power supply is quite old, 500 watts, and only two of its six pins are 1 PCI-E while the other one is coming off the Molex connection. My budget is under £50 if possible, and I'm based in the UK.

We understand the connectors through testing, and the one you shared matches an 8-pin configuration just like the others.

6 plus 2 pins are the typical standard for PCIE connectors, offering greater flexibility as they can be used with either 6 or 8 pin connectors on GPUs. Beyond custom cables or extensions, finding a straight 8-pin PCIE connector is uncommon outside of these cases.
