10-15-2023, 07:20 AM #17Yeah start fresh. reduces the chance of any issues. It's up to you if you want to use the special edition or not. I really doesn't look much different but it is more stable. That said the main downside is that the mods are lacking since most of them had to get re-made. There is also no SKSE yet since the current 32bit version is incompatible. That's what exposes a lot of new APIs for modders to write more complex scripts with.
I stick with the standard one but the special edition is 64-bit which makes it more suitable for modifications. There’s no difference, just use the special editions as long as they have all the same updates. I only worked on the regular version, so I can’t confirm. I never tried the special edition because of my progress in the normal version.
