Sure thing! I'd be happy to help you with optimizing your Skyrim on an iGPU. It's great to hear you're ready to share your settings and progress. If you have time, feel free to send over details about your current configuration and any specific issues you're facing. You mentioned you're saving up for a better GPU—great plan! Let me know how I can assist further.
The GPU purchase isn't coming soon, unfortunately. Lately a lot of things have come up, which is really annoying. Sharing the enb files would be simpler, I think. I compressed them into a .rar file; I’m hoping that’s acceptable? Regarding optimization mods, I’m currently running: FPS Background Booster (with skse), Skyrim Performance PLUS, and Skyrim Project Optimization. I also use the Sky Configuration Tool to tweak the shadows, which has improved performance and added a visual upgrade (though it makes the wave shadow lines look messy). Recently, I tried a DLL file for the proxy feature to boost speed. It worked on my old 8600 GT, but on iGPU performance actually declined. I might have swapped the DLLs by accident, so I’ll try again tonight. As for the mod list (order matters, right? I used BOSS to get it), I cleaned up by uninstalling what seemed unnecessary or outdated. I’ll include that with the enb files. I trimmed the list significantly and the game is running smoothly now. That’s what people say about overclocking—my goal is to reach at least 4.0GHz from 3.8GHz, but I’m struggling to find beginner-friendly guides. All the resources I found use jargon I don’t understand and talk about features I should already know. For other root folders, my current setup is: Root link: http://s4.postimg.org/6k4aljifh/root_folders.png Inside "DATA" folder: http://s28.postimg.org/wxbsynli5/plugins_etc.png I keep my installations safe by keeping backups of clean or working versions—it’s saved me many times.
Thanks for the clarification. I'm also working on Skyrim modifications. I'm curious about the maximum number of 4K textures I can use before reaching my VRAM capacity. I currently have a 3GB GTX 780.
You can utilize tools such as SSME http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50305/ and Enboost http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38649/ to expand your modding options and texture library. SSME is impressive because it doubles the startup memory block from 256 to 512MB, which helps minimize random crashes by requiring a significant amount of space in-game. Enboost lessens the pressure on RAM and prevents crashes when Skyrim reaches 3.1GB, though it may actually improve performance in certain scenarios. Most ENB packages include these if installed, so you won’t need to download them separately.
