System details: R7 2700 stock MSI B450 Tomahawk RX 570 4 GB MSI 2x8 GB Teamgroup certified for 3200 MHz CL16 120 GB Teamgroup SSD 2 TB Seagate Barracuda HDD BeQuiet! System Power U9 500W I’m experimenting with memory overclocking but have limited experience. Right now I’m just using the Memory Try it! option that comes with MSI boards. CJR or C-Die from Hinyx isn’t as strong as B-Die from Samsung, though it still performs reasonably well. I’ve managed to boot at 3200 MHz, 3333 MHz, 3466MHz at CL16 and 3600 MHz at CL18. I’m curious if 3600 MHz CL18 is the same as 3466 MHz CL16. I believe 3466 MHz needs lower voltage for better stability, so that would be preferable. If I increase the SoC voltage, can I still reach 3600 MHz at CL16? And what voltage should I aim for? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

The performance of 3466 could improve with the addition of Zen and Hynix ICs. It’s very unlikely, but you might see better results if it exceeds 1.2 on the SOC. Not advised beyond that.

Booting and stability are entirely distinct concepts. Testing it under benchmarks and memory checks will reveal that it’s unlikely to be stable when pushing components to extreme overclocks.

Find the option that delivers the best performance. Consider running a test with AIDA64 for comparison.

The 3600 MHz signal isn't reliable. The system stopped working after the first graphics load.
