You're facing some challenges with your Skyrim mods. Here are the issues you mentioned along with possible solutions:

1. **Can't load a game into WHITRUN**
- Check if your mod files are properly placed in the correct directory.
- Ensure there are no typos or missing folders.
- Try using a different mod manager or reinstalling the affected mods.

2. **Random dwarven machine things outside of WHITRUN and Bleak Falls**
- Verify that your mods don’t have conflicting scripts or settings.
- Disable or adjust any mods that might be interfering with the dwarven machines.
- Update your mod manager to the latest version.

3. **General random crashes, not just freezing**
- Run the game in Safe Mode to isolate the issue.
- Check for resource-heavy settings or textures causing instability.
- Consider closing background apps that might conflict with the game.

Let me know if you want help troubleshooting any specific mod or setting!

Check for potential conflicts between installed mods. It’s important to verify compatibility to prevent future issues.

Create a fresh game directory and then refine it further. Save your progress before making changes.

I anticipate help will come from the community when details become clearer. Right now, it seems like a potential mod clash is the main issue. How many mods are involved in this situation?

If loading into whiterun isn't working, it might be a corrupt save or a mod issue. A heavily modified Skyrim can cause crashes and CTDs because of memory limits and conflicts between mods. The newest SKSE patch improves memory handling for better stability. Have you tried cleaning your master files and mods using TES5Edit and organizing your load order with LOOT?
