Modern Warfare 2019 CPU Problems
Modern Warfare 2019 CPU Problems
Hi all
I'll start by providing my PC specs:
System Manufacturer: MSI
System Model: MS-7A65
BIOS: 1.30 (type: UEFI)
Processor: Intel® Core i5-7600K CPU @ 3.80GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.8GHz
Memory: 16384MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 16348MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Chip type: GeForce GTX 1080
My issue comes with Call of Duty. When I run this game, my CPU is being heavily hit.
If I don't do anything, and play, it feels a bit smooth, but I have the heaviest mouse input lag, or like, partial movement only.
What I have to do is go to
Task Manager
,
Details,
and set
PRIORITY
to Above-Average, (from the default high).
I can't really alt tab and go on chrome, or use discord or any COMS while playing MW.
Has anyone experienced this?
Thanks so much!

It's frustrating when your computer can't handle a game properly. Let's look at how to improve this situation. The key is upgrading your processor and motherboard – essentially building a stronger foundation for gaming performance.
Currently, you might be running on a CPU that isn’t powerful enough for demanding titles. A common issue is having too few cores or threads to handle modern games effectively. For example, if you're using an older Intel Core i7 with only four cores and eight threads, it could struggle with newer games designed for higher core counts. These games often benefit from more processing power to smoothly render graphics and manage complex game mechanics.
A straightforward solution is to upgrade your CPU – perhaps a Ryzen 5000 series processor or an equivalent Intel Core i5 would provide a significant boost in performance. However, you’ll also need to ensure that your motherboard supports the new CPU. This often means upgrading both at the same time for optimal compatibility and stability.
Here are some upgrade options:
* **Ryzen 3600/3700X:** These processors paired with a B550 or X570 chipset offer excellent value and performance, especially if you're building a new gaming PC.
* **Intel Core i5-10600K:** This processor combined with a Z490 motherboard is another solid choice for improving your gaming experience.
Keep in mind that upgrading these components might require changes to other parts of your system, such as RAM and power supply, so it’s worth researching compatibility before making any purchases.

It's important to optimize your PC for gaming performance. Currently, you have a [mention specific CPU model], which might be limiting its potential. To truly unlock higher frame rates and smoother gameplay in demanding titles, consider upgrading your processor.
A solid upgrade path would involve moving to a Ryzen 3600/3700X series or an Intel i5-10600K with compatible motherboards like the B550 or Z490 chipset. These processors offer significantly more cores and threads, allowing them to handle modern games much better than your current setup. While a high-end upgrade like dropping in a 7700k could be an option, it's often one of the most expensive choices.
Ultimately, investing in a newer generation processor will provide you with the best gaming experience and future-proof your system for upcoming titles that increasingly demand more processing power.
Thanks for the answer. COD is the only game giving me a problem :/
My board would hold me back from upgrading CPU right?
IF I were to be able to get my hands on a 7700K, do you think this would last for a while?
Cause to just change the CPU is easier etc and trying to be as safe as possible while I can't get much help currently to replace parts on my computer.
Thanks
