I recently assembled a PC for my son’s school use during the pandemic using quality components. It performed well initially but eventually slowed significantly after a defrag. Many forum users claim a defrag won’t really help slow things down. Despite this, it booted quickly at first and ran smoothly before that. I have a weak graphics card, though it still worked fine. All drivers were updated, fastboot disabled, and heavy startup processes turned off. I’m worried about a full reinstall but might consider it if necessary. Any advice?

What kind of storage device are you employing? Is it an HDD, SSD, or NVMe?

Thanks for the update. It was a busy day at work. I'm using a 4TB Seagate Barracuda HDD, and I'm trying to figure out if it's a hybrid drive. But I don't have the details anymore.
