Hello everyone, I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to explain a confusing problem I encountered with my RAMs. For about half a year, I used a Corsair 16GB DDR4 3200MHz CL16 Vengeance LPX kit, and everything functioned properly. Recently, I upgraded to 32GB and purchased the same set. After installation, I tried to boot but the system failed to POST. I only managed to start after turning off DOCP, yet Windows still displayed blue screens. I ran MemTest86 and noticed numerous errors. Once the new RAM arrived, I completed four error-free passes. When I tried installing them in the same slots as before, the PC didn’t boot at all. However, when I installed them individually, everything worked fine in one slot. But in another slot, one RAM failed to display anything, while the other also couldn’t POST. I replaced the original RAMs and the system booted without issues. I’m planning to return the new kit for replacement. I’m curious why the new RAMs worked in one slot but not in another—especially since the old ones performed perfectly. EDIT: My CPU model is Ryzen 7 2700x, motherboard Asus TUF B450M Plus, power supply EVGA B5.

Could just be a bad module. My advice however, is do not mix and match kits, regardless of if they are the same exact kits or not. Unless they are purchased in the same kit from the factory they are not guaranteed to work. I would suggest buying a 2x16gb kit over trying to mix and match your already purchased 2x8GB kit with another. DDR4 can just be pretty picky, and even identical kits can have instability and crashing issues.

Thanks for your feedback @SpookyCitrus. I believe my 2700x might struggle with four dimmers during DOCP because of the limited memory controller. Should we consider an upgrade? I primarily use the PC for gaming at 1440p, playing AAA titles and esports games like LoL and CSGO occasionally. My GPU is the RX 6700XT. While I thought it would work, I now feel it’s limiting performance.
