Modern motherboard and operating system updates
Hi, I just received a new motherboard and power supply. I’m a bit concerned about Windows and storage since I’m upgrading my PC. Should I replace the existing Windows version and clear out my hard drive completely if I switch motherboards? Also, do I need to buy a new Windows license or is there an option to keep the current one? I’m worried about the cost of both.
Third time this section starts with the same issue. One version uses a different mainboard and PSU, and you can test the old setup. Find more details in several related posts here.
You don’t necessarily need to format the HDD. It depends on what you plan to do with it. If you just want to keep your games, documents, and music intact, formatting might not be required unless you’re moving it to a different drive or system.
