ASUS motherboards feature a compatibility support module (CSM) in their UEFI firmware. This optional component ensures legacy BIOS systems can run by simulating an older boot environment. CSM enables support for outdated operating systems that require UEFI but don't meet the current standard.

CSM on AM4 also offers you unbuffered ECC support, though I'm not certain if this feature is maintained in AM5.
