hi! Been using this PC mostly for work and, after running into some PC freezes while playing HL Alyx i decided to find the root of the issue and did an prime95 cpu stress test. while having the cpu at stock, with no OC whatsoever, i've reached package temps of 100 °C wich are way too high for stock frequency. O ther than a possible not so good airflow issue i have absolute no idea whats going on and what to do to solve it. here's my configuration: Mobo: Gigabyte Z390 Master CPU: i9 9900K RAM: 64GB - 4 x 16gb DDR4 Trident z 3000 GPU: MSI gaming x trio RTX 2080ti PSU: Corsair RMx 1000W M2 1: Samsung Evo 960 250gb M2 2: Crucial P1 1 tb M2 3: 660p 2TB AIO cooler: Thermaltake Ring 360 (with 3 120 fans) other fans: 3 x 120 thermaltake ring + 3 x low profile fans Case: Lian Li O11Dynamic (Self assembled, Pea method on thermalpaste) Idle temps: 36 °C to 40°C Room temp: 20°C Airflow diagram and fan curve profiles in the attachment Please help
Did you use sufficient thermal paste and apply proper pressure during installation? Also, did you take off the label on the mounting block? Some people skip that step, but it’s worth checking.
Check where the Pump is connected. It should be plugged into the SysFan header, not the CPU fan header. Refer to the diagrams on page 1 through the last two pages of the manual.
Sure, I understand. The AIO cooler came with pre-applied paste, which I cleaned and replaced with an MX4 Arctic version. The pressure and amount of paste are personal preferences. I used the pea application method, but I don’t remember the exact size or tightness of the screws.
You're not familiar with AIO systems, but I'm here to assist. Are you noticing warm or hot air coming out of the radiator? It might simply need better air intake. The fan placement could be limiting airflow.

currently only the lower three fans are drawing in air, positioned just 1cm from the table due to the vertical GPU mount constraint that prevents placing them inside the case. The front three fans have the radiator mounted and the top three exhaust. Would flipping the airflow direction on the radiator help? (though this would move warmer air into the case while keeping cooler air outside)
The SYS FAN (PUMP) is positioned close to your 24-pin motherboard power outlet.
I have two ideas to share. Consider upgrading the cold air intake—add more fans or eliminate restrictions. You might also place a second fan behind the intake panel for better airflow, taking advantage of the open space. For the pump setup, connect it directly to the motherboard via the SYS FAN header.
