You’re facing a common setup challenge with your new components. The issue likely stems from the USB connections not being fully utilized. Since both USB ports on your MPSG Z790 Edge are occupied, you’ll need a splitter that can handle multiple devices simultaneously. A simple Amazon splitter might not suffice—look for one designed for high-density setups or multiple peripherals. Make sure the splitter supports the required bandwidth and has enough power delivery for your fans and case.

You must align with the USB standard since variations exist between USB2, 3.x and Type-C connections. Based on your motherboard information, you possess four USB 2.0 headers, two USB 3 ports, and one Type-C port. USB devices typically provide limited power, so consider this when using a splitter. You can also purchase PCI-E cards with header connectors.

You can purchase internal USB2.0 hubs for around €21. At least one NZXT model was discovered via a simple Google search. I’m unsure about the exact location, so I can’t confirm. Do all external components function properly behind the front I/O?

Obtain an internal USB hub and link all your fans to it. Since they operate at low bandwidth, standard high-speed ports aren't necessary. For example, a setup that converts one USB 2.0 header into eight ports (four headers each with two ports) is available at Amazon. Another option multiplies the number of ports by using a hub chip that organizes them into four headers. A cheaper alternative requires power from a SATA connector. A third choice uses USB 3.0 ports, which can be found on Amazon as well.

UK here, the issue is with the front IO but the USB isn't connected to the front panel as I can't find a way to link it. Would something like this work?

Seems reliable enough. Another option might be the NZXT Internal USB Hub AC-IUSBH-M3, but it costs more per USB2.0 connector (4 for 20 GBP versus 2 for 8 GBP). Since you only need a few extra headers, I believe the Chinese splitter would be the best choice.

Thanks! I'll go with the cheaper option right away. If it doesn't work, I'll test the NZXT hub.
