I'm setting up my first PC and have reached the testing phase to confirm functionality before enclosing everything. I plug in the power supply and connectors, and the RGB lights on the motherboard illuminate, but the 24-pin connector isn't fully inserted—even moving it further doesn’t make a difference unless I apply significant pressure.

It's unclear which one you're referring to. It seems to have been a reliable solution for previous systems, so I assumed it would work for testing.

There isn't much detail about the graphics card—everything seems set up, including the CPU and RAM.

ok so is the motherboard ready for the 13th gen cpu? the bios update for 13th gen was after the board was released..so first check that if you can if that is ok then remove everything except cpu and cpu heatsink/fan (check socket pins are not damaged) 1 stick of ram test make sure 24 pin and 4/8 pin cpu power is in... I know you say 24 pin not in properly, it does not need to much force but just hold the back of the board where the 24 goes and push as far as it will go without to much force

Check around the middle of the board—this update applies to the 13th generation CPUs. The motherboard package often mentions whether it supports the 13th gen or updated BIOS.

To refresh the system information, simply follow the on-screen prompts or settings menu instructions specific to your device. If unsure, check the manufacturer’s guide for guidance.

The process might face challenges with the 13th generation CPU. Typically, you need a board that already supports the new CPU to update the BIOS. Unless your board offers a bios flashback feature or something similar, you may not be able to modify the BIOS without the CPU installed. I’m not sure if your unit supports that, so checking the manual would be wise. If it doesn’t, upgrading to a 12th generation CPU seems like the only viable solution—this is something many builders encounter, making PC assembly less intuitive.
