Hey there, need some expert advice. I’ve upgraded my CPU from an i3 3220 to an i5 3450 and paired it with an Intel DH61WW motherboard. My old ASUS H61M-K board was damaged, so I had to switch to this new setup. After booting up, it started beeping—definitely a memory issue, three beeps confirmed. I checked the DIMM 2 slot and found it was dead. From my experience, both RAM slots worked before, so I suspected bent pins on the motherboard. I inspected them and fixed a few, but it’s still a bit uncertain. Right now I have only 4GB RAM in one slot, which isn’t ideal for gaming. I tried using virtual memory to make it work, but it’s not perfect.

I’m considering getting a new motherboard—Zebronics H61 or B75? My CPU isn’t upgrading easily due to the current situation. The H61 has 1000Mbps LAN, but the B75 only offers 100Mbps. I’m worried about long-term stability if I bend the pins again or if there’s a risk of shorts. The diagnostic tool ran fine, so I’m cautious.

Any thoughts on whether this setup will hold up for a couple months? I’d appreciate your guidance before making a decision. Thanks!

It’s probable it will turn off right away Without using the second dimmer. Probably you won’t be able to either way.
