i’m setting up a new pc and already have a rog case, so i thought about getting a rog motherboard. i decided to go with the maximus xi hero but i’ve heard a lot of negative reviews about it. then i saw the gigabyte z390 aorus ultra or wifi pro — both offer essentially the same features as the hero, though the ultra is almost identical. gigabyte seems to have better boards overall. the order hasn’t been placed yet on amazon, so should i wait and consider the ultra instead? it’s also cheaper, but i’m curious about aorus compatibility with aura sync. thanks!
Without any background for the rest of your setup, I can note that the Maximum XI Hero and the Aorus Ultra are both solid choices, with the Aorus better suited for top-end CPUs in the 1151 socket. No, Aura Sync is an ASUS product only compatible with ASUS boards. To adjust the RGB on the Aorus board, you must install the Gigabyte Fusion software.
You clearly won’t be able to manage the RGB settings from your Helios case, right? The Gigabyte board is handling it all.
You hadn’t referenced the issue before... Yet it appears the case only links to Aura Sync. The connection uses an ARGB port that the Aorus board doesn’t support. It also looks like there are physical buttons for adjusting the lighting effects—maybe you could utilize those? I wonder if GamersNexus released a video review expressing strong dissatisfaction with this case. Still puzzling why again. P.S. Asus... Kindly proofread your manuals too, and why is everything written in a skewed way?
