Hey there! I’m trying to get more serious about my MOBA gaming and really want to improve, not just focus on matching bots to show off. It’s tough because there are so many options out there. Right now I mainly play Dota 2 because it gives me all the heroes right out of the box. But with the new Heroes of the Storm and my Blizzard fandom, it’s hard to decide whether to jump ships or stick with what I know. Any tips would be great!

Currently, all MOBAs appear to be performing at their peak levels. (Except possibly HOTS, which is new.) DOTA 2 looks stable, so it doesn’t seem necessary to make changes.

Based on my background, I began with MOBAs from League of Legends and have remained there. I’ve experimented with HoN and another MOBA but prefer what I started with. I first played League when the concept of a 'meta' didn’t exist and gradually adapted as the scene evolved. Switching to another MOBA feels challenging because I’ve invested too much time in League. Try different ones, but stick with one you’re comfortable with or enjoy the most.

They're all solid choices. Choose what feels right for you. I don't really enjoy HOTS; it seems a bit too relaxed. I usually stick with league since that's what most of my friends do. If you've tried DOTA 2, go with it. I played it during the closed beta and found it fairly competitive. Or switch between them. Some friends enjoy all three because they're hooked on the MOBA style.

These games demand significant practice. Learn by trying and adjusting.

This could be the path I take since Dota offers full access right away, and I start to like the hues in League of Legends and Smite and Heroes.

The league provides complete access, breaking it down week by week. Various free champions let you test them all, and you can buy the ones you like using in-game money.

There are countless types of MOBA games available these days. It's tough to suggest a specific one, especially the most popular ones, since the learning curve is steep. If you're okay without it, don't rush in. Most players struggle, and judging the game itself is unfair because many can't handle it well.

I’ve been enjoying Dota 2 and League of Legends for years, and I’m now diving into Heroes of the Storm. It’s a lot more straightforward than those two, but it keeps things moving quickly with lots of action and a fresh approach centered on achieving goals. I can only say yes to it.

I gave Dota a shot after a year in the league, but my performance was really poor despite my usual skills. Keep in mind, when you begin playing the league, use the cheat command '/mute all' if necessary.
