Been in that situation before—consistently winning 14 rounds, then suddenly losing everything until the game evenings. Opponents seem to perform poorly at first half, but then they pull off some unexpected plays. In MG ranks this pattern keeps showing up, often leading to low hour accounts and sudden shifts in performance. Recently I saw one of my matches where he was bypassing enemies, fighting the lock instead of securing it.
It just happened to me five minutes ago. We were trailing 15-6, then someone from our team left, and we punished the other guy—he wasn’t contributing. We were 3v5 and managed seven wins until I had to quit. I was clutching three times during those victories.
It does occur occasionally, though less frequently at the moment.
I have an alternate account with the same standing as my primary one, and I’m getting criticized when I perform well. I’m highlighting the obvious competitors, not those who are truly putting in the work—I always review my games carefully.
Someone might say, but I achieved four quad kills and two aces in one match yesterday, which got me some criticism. I believe players adapt their style depending on the map—more aggressive on Infierno for me, and more so on Mirage for CT. It seems it comes down to game sense and personal preferences. My listening skills are decent, just callouts only when necessary; I’m trying my best.
I usually play ultra passive as CT on Inferno, but I get really aggressive on Cobblestone as T. If I’m playing Dust 2, I can toggle between aggressive and passive on A, pick an angle, or catch them off guard with long doors... Who would guess I’m standing in the open with a 5/7? The only thing that changes is how close I stay to the wall when I hear an AWP scanning. That’s dangerous in the open, haha.
