Mixing Ram
Mixing Ram
You have two 8GB sticks and one 16GB stick, all at the same 2400MHz speed. It’s possible to use them together, but you’ll need to check compatibility with your system. Mixing different sizes can work if the motherboard supports it, though performance may vary. Seeing discussions about mixing sizes helps, but specific advice for three sticks isn’t widely shared.
Avoid using Ryzen. The first generation Ryzen model suffers from a weak memory controller and three dimms provide only dual channel in half the RAM capacity. Dual channel isn't harming performance. Stick to two dimms; for a 32GB build you'll need a package of two 16GB units.
Make sure the two 8GB dimmer units are placed in the same channel.
