You just assembled a new PC with a Ryzen 5 3600 and an MSI RTX 2060. You have 16GB of G.Skill Ripjaws 3200MHz CL16 and were considering adding another 16GB for CAD/CAM tasks. You looked at the G.Skill Trident Z with matching specs but are hesitant to purchase it to avoid potential problems.

iirc they should be fine. But why would you want to buy more expensive ram that doesn't match the ram that's in your current system?

As long as the timing and voltage align, it should work fine. Most users on this forum dislike what I say, but I’ll go ahead. Adding four RAM sticks instead of two usually requires raising the RAM voltage by about 3-5% for stability. Fortunately, current design allows components to handle a 10% deviation from the recommended voltage.
