He mentioned a solid observation. You’d still need an AM4 backplate. Look inside the motherboard case—it might still be there, or in the bag it was stored in. Alternatively, you could opt for a third-party version, but it’s wise to confirm with the seller about options if you don’t have the original backplate. (It should normally come with the motherboard.)
It seems likely it's near the motherboard and case, just shaking inside. Try opening another side of the case and check there—perhaps it will come out or you can take the board out for a closer look.
