You're facing an issue where Windows 10 installation fails on one partition after migrating, but works fine on another. This often happens due to file system corruption or conflicting partitions. Checking for errors during installation and ensuring both partitions are properly recognized might help. If needed, consider using a bootable recovery tool to restore the second partition before proceeding.

I wonder what you're aiming for here. Why would you want two copies of the same Windows version on the same disk? Following this guide should resolve the issue, even though it's a bit outdated—it might still be useful.

You're aiming for a seamless migration with two separate drives, focusing on a smooth setup and transferring data from a slower old drive.

Check if the drives are distinct. If not, connect the unused one. Do you need a backup storage device? I’ll erase and reinstall backups. Without a backup drive, obtain one immediately. What error message appears during installation?

The partitions come from various disks. After installing on a new partition, the desktop works properly, but upon rebooting the system becomes corrupted, requiring a full Windows reinstall to return to the desktop. The backup drive appears as a single full partition containing EXEs.

Display the disk layout image. Disconnect the old storage device. Mount it onto the new drive. Restart the system and verify functionality. Reconnect the old drive and test again.

I didn't consider disconnecting the old drive; I'll let you know once I've tried it, thank you for your assistance.
