Hello everyone, I just assembled my initial setup. It includes an ASUS TUF GTX 1660 Super OC with 16 GB RAM at 2666 HZ, paired with an ASUS B460 Plus and an Intel i3-10100. Throughout all the games I've tried, I've experienced micro screen tearing and occasional stuttering. This has happened in titles like Halo Reach and CE, Black Mesa, Garry's Mod, Dead Space 2, and DOOM 2016.

I'm using an Asus VG248QE monitor that supports up to 144HZ, but I've limited it to 60 via Windows 10 settings to achieve smooth performance and optimal visual quality. Even when restricting games to 60 FPS, the screen tearing persists.

It's important to note that the issue is significantly worse when Vsync is turned off in the Nvidia control panel. If Vsync isn't enabled through the panel, it seems to have little impact on reducing the screen tearing. The in-game settings don't seem to make a difference either.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Building my first PC was quite challenging, and now this is even more frustrating. Thanks a ton!

Consider adjusting the monitor settings to 144Hz or 120Hz. When using in-game Vsync, ensure Nvidia Vsync is configured as application control. Also, try fast sync and limit FPS to 59fps if the monitor is set to 60Hz. Activate Nvidia Vsync or application control according to the game's settings. Another option is to turn off fullscreen optimization in compatibility mode for the game's executable.
