I've found videos on Vudu and am thinking about switching to Linux, probably a Mint-based system. The issue is that Vudu doesn't work on Linux even when using Microsoft Edge. I'm having trouble locating a fix, but anyone have ideas on how to make Vudu play on Linux?

From what I understand, Vudu's DRM doesn't work well with Linux. You might bypass it by running the Android app on tools like Waydroid, though I haven't tried it myself.

I don’t rely on VirtualBox for virtualization; I use another method. Windows7 runs smoothly in VirtualBox on FreeBSD, completing a full desktop boot in just 8 seconds on my current hardware. I haven’t faced any issues with virtualizing Windows10 via VirtualBox before.

Windows 10 works well in VirtualBox, yet Vudu struggles to play videos. In Edge on a traditional Windows 10 setup, it functions smoothly. It seems the DRM might be flagging it as a VM and rejecting it.

I don't recognize Vudu, so my words might be unclear. Honestly, it seems improbable that Vudu would notice this issue. I can still stream Netflix and other media with DRM in a virtual machine, which suggests the problem might lie with the VM setup or configuration. I’m puzzled as to why it doesn’t function properly on Chrome, Edge, and Brave, especially on Linux—shouldn’t it work there too? You’ve probably enabled the DRM support feature in Chrome, Edge, and Brave, haven’t you?

I’ve reviewed the information and confirmed that Vudu poses challenges on Linux. Its DRM restrictions are very tight, making it unlikely to function smoothly in a fully open-source desktop environment. I discovered two potential fixes that should resolve the issue.

I'll give it a shot and see how it runs on your laptop.
