Minor problem following the removal of Razer Cortex.
Minor problem following the removal of Razer Cortex.
Hello everyone, I've been trying out Razer Cortex for a few days and haven't been very satisfied. After uninstalling it completely, I noticed that whenever I launch Steam or any other game, my Windows 7 reverts back to Windows 7 Basic. I'm not sure how to fix this issue. It seems to happen only when opening a game that was supposed to be boosted, but it's still installed. How can I resolve this?
Have you verified all components of the Game Booster were removed? Remaining files may still affect your settings.
That's the issue—the sole software installed on my PC is Razer Synapse, intended for my keyboard.
Check the options in the settings menu for a cleanup feature. If not visible, look for a 'clean' or 'reset' button to remove any leftover items.
Before starting REVO, you might need to reinstall Cortex. Then choose the program from the list inside REVO. Activate advanced mode and ensure all relevant files and registry entries are present, making sure they aren’t linked to Synapse. Alternatively, remove every Razer-related item and reinstall the correct drivers for your keyboard.
Sorry to hear that. I tried reinstalling it and removing it again using the advanced settings as instructed. Every time I launch Steam or another game, it reverts back to Windows 7 basic. The screenshot shows it stating: "The next program has executed an action that temporarily changed the colour scheme in Windows 7 basic." It mentions a program name of "steam client bootstrapper" and a publisher ID of 4436. If this behavior continues, the colour scheme should reset automatically when those programs are inactive.
