My PC has been acting strangely lately. It keeps crashing, freezing peripherals, and stopping certain features like iCUE, Lconnect, and RAM lights. The screen goes black, and everything seems to slow down before returning to normal without a blue screen or shutdown. Windows Explorer loses icons until you restart it manually. Event Viewer shows errors related to low memory or resources, plus a warning about low virtual memory. I own a DDR5 Corsair Vengeance RGB 6000 Mhz 2x16 GB RAM setup, with a page file of nearly 63 GB. At the time of these issues, only a single Chrome tab and a few Explorer windows were running, along with background apps managing lighting and fans. It happened again recently while watching a video with MPC-HC—RAM usage was around 9 GB physical and 3 GB virtual (12 total), with 20 GB cached. Even when playing 40k Space Marine 2, it would freeze several times. Mem testing showed normal results, so I’m unsure what’s causing the problem. No recent changes except a GPU upgrade from 3070 to 5070 TI, which was three months ago. This issue started about a month ago. It seems like something is limiting virtual memory usage, possibly preventing the system from using more than 3-4 GB, or there might be another factor at play. Also, it’s odd that with so much free physical RAM, virtual memory isn’t being used effectively. Thanks for your help—I really need advice.

Have you attempted this? I faced a similar issue before, and watching that video helped resolve it.

I tried to check if it works now, please. The issue is the task manager along with other programs crashes, causing the screen to go black completely. There’s no sign of malware detected by the Windows Security app. Everything looks normal until it happens.

It might be a potential threat. Are you referring to any other application or surveillance tools?

All applications fail completely, even basic ones like iCUE, Lconnect 3, Windows Explorer, and drivers—especially the GPU driver, which is obvious because the screen goes black. Everything stops working: the monitor turns dark, keyboard and mouse cease functioning despite having power, and even buttons don’t respond properly. After some time, things return to normal except for desktop icons disappearing until I manually restart Windows Explorer. The Task Manager gives misleading stats that appear okay but then crash again, after which everything seems fine once it restarts. I haven’t tried other monitoring tools, suspecting they too might have crashed. I attempted a Windows repair method, but the issue persists. It happened suddenly, not before any previous problems. During a reboot while performing a repair, the first POST failed, showing a RAM light and three short beeps. The motherboard is an MSI B650 Tomahawk Wi-Fi model; after restarting, everything worked again. It might be a BIOS bug or another hidden issue.

I ran a Windows security scan, and no issues were detected.

I haven't noticed the issue returning yet—it's been just two days. I'm hoping it will resolve soon. If it persists, updating the BIOS might be the next step. Since I built this PC myself, I assume I'm handling the technical support. Appreciate your help!
