Recently I purchased an Acer Nitro 5 with an i7-9750H, RTX 2060 and 8GB RAM. I’m experiencing lower frame rates than expected. I know it’s a laptop, not a desktop, but I’ve undervolted it and used a cooling pad, so temperature shouldn’t be the issue. I’m getting around 80 FPS instead of the hundreds I should see. I’ve looked into it extensively, but I’m not sure what’s causing the problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your laptop likely uses one-channel RAM. Consider adding another stick of RAM.

I’d save MSI Afterburner and examine your usage data while the game runs to identify any performance issues. Also, confirm whether you’re using a full-screen setup rather than a borderless window.

I'll make it fullscreen. Once I'm set, I'll install MSI afterburner and get back to you when I'm done.

You managed to complete the task in Subnautica since it wasn't available on CS. Your GPU and RAM levels seem sufficient, so it shouldn’t be a bottleneck. Consider your CPU performance as well—if it's lagging, upgrading could help.

Your GPU is struggling because the CPU and RAM are under heavy load, causing the I7 to handle the workload instead of the GPU.

Boost the game options that require more graphics power, as this will ease some load on your CPU.
