Thank you for your update. My CPU performance during gameplay stays between 15-30%. GPU usage ranges from 25-60%. I thought about upgrading the monitor resolution, similar to others before me. However, that would mean losing the fast TN 360Hz display and likely reducing my FPS significantly. Would sacrificing that monitor hurt my overall gaming experience? My PC specs are: ASUS GeForce RTX 3080 TUF Gaming OC V2, AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, Tray Kingston FURY Beast RGB DDR4 3200MHz 64GB Corsair MP600 CORE M.2 NVMe SSD 1TB, ASUS Prime X570-P Corsair RM750 750W PSU. I’m still unsure how a cheaper CPU would boost my performance or FPS. Are there other factors I should consider? Appreciate your help!

The X3D CPU features a large amount of L3 cache that significantly boosts performance in many games. Structurally, the 5800X3D is essentially a 5800X with an extra L3 cache. To manage heat and power consumption, the temperatures and power usage of the L3 cache were reduced slightly, allowing the CPU to operate efficiently. Additionally, it uses a single chip for all cores, eliminating extra delays during communication between them.

Hey, I understand your concern. You’ve already checked the basics and still aren’t seeing noticeable improvements. Have you tried adjusting your graphics settings more aggressively? Also, consider updating your drivers or checking for any BIOS updates that might affect performance. Sometimes small tweaks can make a big difference. Let me know what you try next!

It seems unusual. Are your temps stable? Is there software restricting GPU activity such as frame limiters or V-sync? Have you performed a fresh Windows setup?

I performed a complete Windows clean install since I encountered some problems after setting up my new CPU. I don’t have any frame limiters and neither do I have CPU or GPU restrictions. In temperature terms, my CPU stays below 50°C and my GPU under 60°C. All startup programs are turned off so nothing runs in the background, and I’ve followed many guides to boost performance, using the top power plan.

The system operates at high temperatures and shows unusual thermal behavior compared to similar models. It suggests a potential bottleneck affecting cooling or performance. The BIOS version you're using could influence how the CPU manages heat.

Check your BIOS version and see if it matches the TUF GAMING B550M-PLUS. If not, consider updating it to ensure compatibility. Look for any recommended settings changes as well.

You mentioned having an Asus Prime X570-P, but your exact board and BIOS version aren't clear. Using CPU-Z will confirm whether you're running an older system. UEFI refers to Unified Extensible Firmware Interface, which is essentially a newer version of the traditional BIOS. Many people still use the older term even though it's being phased out.

Sorry about the IT details. I missed adding that part. I changed the motherboard and CPU too. CPU-Z provided the information you need.

Your Bios is severely outdated, you should find the model of the board on Asus website and there under Support you have the Bios versions to download. No need to flash one by one, the new version always includes the previous fixes, so just flash the latest. Download, unpack to a root folder of a drive, enter the Bios, switch from the basic view to advanced and there you'll find the option to flash the bios (I believe the last tab). Then, after the flash, enable DOCP and ReBAR support. Retest. Your board doesn't know how to use the CPU properly since the Agesa with the x3d support is newer than your Bios date.
