Hello everyone, I got a computer six months ago and have been facing some problems. I notice occasional micro stutters during gameplay, mainly around 30% of the time. The game Hogwarts Legacy is the one that shows it most clearly, and I’ve recorded a clip with performance data for your reference. My system includes an Intel Core i9-13900K processor, MSI MAG cooler, a 16 GB DDR5 RAM upgrade to Vengeance RGB, a 6400MT/s RAM module, a Western Digital Black SSD, and a GeForce RTX 4080 with 16 GB video card. I’m using a Gigabyte M32Q monitor and have enabled XMP settings at full resolution. I’ve minimized background apps and taken screenshots of Task Manager and HWINFO results during the test. Based on what I see, it seems like a RAM issue might be the cause. Would you recommend checking or replacing my RAM? I’m not very technical, so I’ll try to explain clearly.

It seems you're experiencing low memory performance. 16GB in Hogwarts isn't ideal, and the Cl40 runs sluggishly. The video matches your setup with 16GB and shows a stuttering issue. He's running at 6000MHz RAM, but on a system with 32GB it reaches 25GB usage.

Unrelated, but anticipate your AIO to malfunction soon; even V2 still faces clogging problems from V1, though less severe. No, I spent over 20 hours on Hogwarts Legacy (got tired so I quit) without any issues using 16GB DDR4 RAM. If it were DDR5, then yes, performance would drop. I believe the issue ties to RAM—two 8GB DDR5 units are a flaw, and DDR5 8GB sticks lag behind DDR5 16GB sticks due to IC limitations. It’s not just slower; it also falls short of the minimum recommended specs for DDR5 gaming, like the 5200 CL40 which struggles in that regard.

It looks like your RAM problem might be with the motherboard. The documentation mentions CPU memory controller quality and specific DIMM types, which can be confusing. If you need guidance, consider checking compatible 32GB modules with higher speeds. Just make sure to remove your old RAM before installing the new one to avoid conflicts.

It's clear, the QVL on certain sites can be quite perplexing. I've found the RAM you mentioned works well, especially at higher speeds. Kingston Fury Beast 6000mhz DDR5 CL36 with 32GB. I've used it myself across many projects so far—no problems even when XMP/EXPO is active. Another point: Is this a pre-assembled unit or did you assemble it yourself? As noted earlier, the R series from MSI is facing widespread recalls in the thousands because of loop issues that cause failure.

Thanks for your reply! I saw the Fury RAM at around £122, but the VENGEANCE® RGB 32GB DDR5 kit is available for about £10 less. Would that make a better choice? I’ve verified both options against my motherboard’s QVL and they match the screenshots. Also, the Kingston RAM claims 6,000MHz while the Corsair version lists 6,400MT/s—do you know if these terms mean the same thing? It seems more confusing the further I look. The RAMs come from a UK company called Cyberpower.

MHz and MT are often used the same way. MT is the accurate term because DDR supports two data transfers per clock cycle (Double Data Rate), meaning a 6000MT RAM operates at 3000MHz. The Corsair product is suitable for Intel platforms, though there have been some problems with AMD systems.

Great, thanks for your assistance! I plan to buy those Corsair RAM sticks and I’m hoping things will get better. Concerning the AIO not working as expected, I bought the " DESKTOP GOLD WARRANTY: 5 Years' Labour, 2 Years' Parts, 2 Years' Collect and Return plus Life-Time Technical Support." I’m confident it should be fixed within the warranty period, but I’ll reach out to them again to confirm. Thanks for your help!

Stay informed on both sides. It makes sense to file a ticket so you have proof of your contact with them, especially if they say no or decline. You never know what might happen. Life-Time Technical Support is helpful, but it’s just support—they’ll confirm a dead AIO and that’s it. Good luck!
