You were testing with stock speed and it worked with 1080p media. Ask about your next steps for the machine and what issues Raspbian encountered.

Which browser are you using? I've observed that Firefox HTML5 and YouTube function inconsistently on Linux, while Chromium performs more reliably. My experience suggests Chromium may be the better option. I'm not certain about other browsers, though some could work better than Firefox.
