Hello, I recently changed my initial PC configuration from an Nvidia 1060 with 6GB RAM to a RTX 3080 after discovering one at a reasonable cost. Although I was confident it wouldn’t be a major performance hit, I’ve been noticing extremely low frame rates in various games (Cyberpunk 2077/Fallout 4, World of Warcraft). Below are screenshots comparing my FPS against another RTX 3080 (captured on YouTube) taken under identical settings. The difference exceeds 100 FPS, which is quite disappointing.

My current setup (XMP profile enabled):
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 2700X
- GPU: RTX 3080 10GB
- RAM: 16GB C14 2400MHz
- PSU: Seasonic G12 GC Series, 80 PLUS Gold, 850W
- Motherboard: Updated BIOS (2 weeks ago)
- Display: Samsung Odyssey 144Hz, 1440p

I considered upgrading RAM to 3600 MHz, but most budget options are CL16 latency, not CL14. Even with that, I doubt it will close the performance gap.

I also ran a user benchmark at https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/56742189 and everything looked normal (except possibly the SSD).

3D Mark (demo version): My FPS and usage results with an Intel i7 10700K / 32GB RAM at 3200/3600Hz.

The game world of Warcraft often struggles with performance, especially on lower-end hardware. It depends a lot on how efficiently the processor uses data and CPU cache. With an RTX 3090, you're in a good spot for WoW thanks to its L3 cache. Your older 2700x model still performs well because it matches the FPS expectations for its IPC in the game.
