I've made a mistake before, so I should really double-check before trying again. I just bought an HP EliteDesk 705 G4 mini PC without a WiFi card installed. I reviewed the manual, which mentioned Intel 3168, 7265, 8265, and 9560 as compatible, but it specifically noted "non-vPro" next to them. That caught me off guard because my system uses a Ryzen 5 Pro 2400GE CPU, so the 9560 card wouldn't work at all. I searched online and found that in my area, it seems hard to locate a non-vPro version of this model, especially at a good price. Instead, I discovered two alternatives: the Intel 9260 and the AX200, both labeled as non-vPro at a nearby store for a reasonable cost. However, the connectors look different—my current unit has an "E" connector, while the others are AE M.2 types. I’m unsure if any of these would fit. The service manual from HP doesn’t provide much guidance on slot compatibility. I’ve been struggling with this all night, so any advice or information would be really helpful!

Provided the chipset matches, the card's physical fit will determine compatibility, not the keying.

Check ebay for a basic PCIe/M.2 adapter, such as the one priced around 9 USD for the item you mentioned. You can also purchase antennas separately or buy M.2 to PCIe x1 adapters that include antennas for about 10 USD. When buying from intel, choose cards without CNViO (look for those with NGW in the part number). Steer clear of the models listed here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/...eless.html

I already located an AX200 at a nearby seller at a reasonable price, and the PC comes with pre-installed antennas, which should be fine. The concern was whether the non-vPro version of that card would fit the Ryzen model of this mini-PC—though saving $10 repeatedly until you find a compatible one could become quite challenging.
