Having recently noticed Minecraft’s increased popularity, I decided to try it out. After playing the game for several months without issue, I recently added shaders – specifically Sildur’s Vibrant shaders 1.22 High for Minecraft 1.14.4. However, almost immediately, I encountered significantly reduced frame rates in the 30s, which was problematic given my susceptibility to motion sickness. Determined to understand the issue, I utilized MSI Afterburner and Task Manager to monitor my GPU and CPU usage, along with VRAM, temperatures, and RAM consumption. My findings revealed that my 980 Ti was operating at between 65% and 80%, while my i7 7700K was only reaching 50%. RAM usage remained at approximately 2GB, and VRAM usage barely exceeded 1.5GB, with temperatures remaining within acceptable limits. Consequently, I was perplexed by these results and have turned to this community for assistance. Furthermore, it’s worth noting that I am utilizing the newest Java version and Windows 7 64-bit Service Pack 1. All other games run smoothly at maximum settings on my 1080p display. I appreciate any support you can provide.

Initially, upgrade to Windows 10.
Windows 7 will completely cease receiving updates in approximately five months, and it’s currently also quite unstable.
Secondly, unfortunately, shaders significantly decrease frame rates for many users.
With a 1080 display and an i7-8700k processor, I’m unable to maintain a frame rate above 50 when using certain shader packages.
Experiment with alternative shader packs that require less processing power, perhaps?

Thank you for your assistance, however, regarding the initial component, I absolutely won’t be utilizing Windows 10 in the future due to it causing significant problems – specifically, rendering two of my computers completely non-functional and making my current one completely inoperable. Additionally, when using the shader pack, my friend possessing an RTX 2070 is experiencing remarkably high frame rates.

I’ve never caused a computer to become unusable with Windows 10, though… but I honestly don’t know why that's occurring.

It doesn’t concern me when technology is either:
a) Malfunctioning until I restart my computer
b) Resolving its issues on its own
