The GPU isn't necessary for running a Minecraft server. With an i7 4770 and 8GB RAM, the system can handle the server workload alone.

It's okay. I'd consider adding a 15$ GPU to handle the OS display, though that's just my opinion. Give it a shot!

That works for a server. Include igpu to avoid needing it later

You'll face no difficulties, I tested a local server on an Athlon X2 without any problems.

It seems the main factor is the CPU. You might need a graphics processor, but the 4770 already includes it.

It's all about the CPU. I've been managing custom servers for five years now. Let me know if you need more help.

CPU performance is what matters most. The GPU becomes ineffective during server operation. (The last time I set up a server was a year ago.) The optimal method for smooth server performance is using a CPU with ample cache. My 8350 handled the server more efficiently than the 3570k.

That's why I mentioned it's okay. I could include a 15$ GPU, but I have friends who own multiple emergency GPUs for affordable options, so I usually go with that. It's a personal decision.

The distinction exists between client and server roles.
