I got bored and tried Minecraft with some mods. I installed nuclear, energetics, factorization, and building ones. Wow, Minecraft became exciting! Power is tracked through Redstone Flux (RF). After learning the basics—cutting wood, mining—I experimented with generators. They’re stacked because I no longer use them much. I upgraded ore processing for better earnings. I noticed hand-mining would slow progress with tech. So I began digging for diamonds to create a quarry with automatic mining. The quarry was sluggish with small generators and needed more power. Then I built a nuclear power plant on my house, using RF transmission lines too. Earnings skyrocketed! I never felt this much fun in Minecraft! Now I’m focused on gathering resources. There’s a lot of mining waste—really bad stuff, cobble. If you want to try it, use Google Direwolf20 and FTB! What do you think? I’ve explored about 10% of the mods so far!
Someday I'll test modded Minecraft, but right now I'm using it with the Craptop and sticking to my PvP style.
What do you have? My setup is a decent A8 APU with 8 GB of RAM. I haven’t used more memory than necessary for the main processor since it hasn’t helped at all.
