I own a solid gaming PC with Apex at full settings, 100 fps at 1080p, but Minecraft keeps lagging. The GPU usage stays at zero until something intense happens, then it spikes briefly but rendering still takes a long time. It's really confusing.
I have a Ryzen 5 2600, 16GB 3000MHz RAM, an RX 580 with 8GB GDDR5 VRAM, and a 500GB SSD with extra space. Any advice on improving performance? It should be running smoothly, yet Minecraft still struggles compared to an older iMac.

Never exceeds 20%. GPU consumption stays under 30MB (0%). I've increased the allocated RAM to 10gb, yet memory usage remains unchanged.

Do you have the latest 64-bit JDK available? (JDKs tend to function better than SDKs in general.) If you don’t require the specific Java version for Minecraft, switch to Bedrock/Windows 10 Edition, which you can download from the Microsoft Store. You can obtain a free copy if your account is older than six months (October 2018).

In my situation it happened to me. I have 8gb 2400 ram, i7 7700HQ and a gtx 1050. What I discovered helpful is when I start Minecraft, I right click and choose run with graphics processor then High-performance NVIDIA processor. That seems to work well for me because modded Minecraft didn't run smoothly and I realized it was using the built-in graphics.
