I experience significant FPS drops in Minecraft 1.8 during fast movement. I typically play with Lunar Client, but also notice performance issues without it. My frame rate drops from 165fps to around 30fps. I've increased RAM, adjusted Vsync, and tweaked settings, but no improvement. My system specs include an MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, an Intel Core i7-9700K at 3.60GHz, 16GB RAM at 3000MHz, and a Cooler Master 120mm water cooler. The issue seems resolved if mouse settings are checked—lowering the polling rate from 1000mhz to 500mhz helped.

Which configuration are you using? Is your memory setup in dual-channel with XMP settings? What are the temperatures? Are your drivers up to date? Are you running the 3060ti or an iGPU? (You can verify this in NVIDIA Control Panel) Also, do you have OptFine enabled? For Lunar, keep the number of mods low—many can reduce FPS.

Using 1.8.9 forge version with OptiFine and Patch enhances performance and stability. Minecraft isn't well optimized, but mods can significantly improve it.

Storage issues cause FPS drops when your device or the server can't handle the terrain load quickly enough. You'll need better storage speed or the server needs more power.

I'm testing maximum settings, yet I keep losing frames when lowering them. My RAM is dual-channel and XMP hasn't helped. Temperatures are fine, other titles run well. I'm using the 3060 Ti and I think that's it.

He has a slower SSD but no hard drive, and he doesn’t experience FPS drops. It’s unclear what might be causing it.

I've installed OptiFine, but I'm not familiar with the patch. I'll look it up.
