You can invite your friend online by using a Minecraft server or joining a multiplayer game. To get the Minecraft prompt before saving, check if your version supports it and enable it in settings. Both options are possible with the right setup.

Used a hamachi or similar device to mimic the LAN, and it functioned properly. Uncertain about the second method.

I would save the server jar from the site and add it to the allowed list in the settings, ensuring only me can join. Hamachi also works fine.

You’ll need to send your port forwarding setup. The method varies based on your ISP and modem model. Just search YouTube for guidance. You’ll also require the MINECRAFT SERVER from minecraft.net, run it, close it, and then forward the port.

Choose Vanilla or Bukkit/Spigot. If using Vanilla, obtain the server jar from the official site, start it once to create the world and configuration files, then stop it. Edit the necessary files. Forward your chosen port in your router settings (commonly 10.0.0.1, 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1) and begin the server. Obtain your IP address via a quick search and provide it to them.

Not without modifications, and I doubt there are any mods that allow this.

Vanilla is definitely the choice. The server container appears to fail immediately.

They said you’d need to forward the port and configure it. When you start a server, it creates a file named whitelist.json. I suggest you open the console, type your username, enable the whitelist, and add your names there. Regarding 'crashing,' it means the app opens and then immediately closes.

Yes, and there are no remnants left afterward. Apart from what it creates in the folder I saved it in.

Remove all except the server jar file, then double-click to start it, and count from 1 to 10. The interface should display something like "Open eula.txt in your favorite text editor (I use Notepad++)." Change "eula=false" to "eula=true" and run the server again—load should work now. Edit: If you need assistance, feel free to mention or tag me; I’m happy to help. As my profile mentions, I previously worked as a mod at Bukkit, so I understand Minecraft servers well.
