Mimicking a school's internet to make it seem like I'm there
Hi, because our schools are closed due to the coronavirus, we don’t usually go there every day. Uploading papers works only on school Wi-Fi, which means I have to travel 100 kilometers each time I need to submit an assignment. Is there a way to connect to the school’s internet using a VPN? The school router settings have admin access with a password, so I can adjust them easily. I’m not interested in hacking, just looking for a simpler solution so I don’t have to travel as much. Thanks
That sounds like a really bad setup. However, if you could link through a VPN, you'd effectively be part of the school network. I’d still recommend discussing this with the school.
Maybe you could simply identify a faculty member to forward your assignments, ensuring they're uploaded into the system. Alternatively, request they configure an automated process for retrieving submissions from email. That would be the simplest and most practical solution, rather than attempting an unofficial VPN connection.
I'm from the Czech Republic, and we have a method for submitting assignments, though it only works if you're connected to the school's network. The system is quite outdated, managed by our IT head who's both clever and a bit confused. Sending an email might be a better option than dealing with the school network directly. Thanks to everyone!
