I just installed a new PC and need a boot drive. I have a 500 GB Samsung 840 Pro, which I want to use for startup. I also have a 129 GB Samsung 840 Evo, but my old 500 GB SSD already holds the OS from previous computers. I don’t want to lose any data and need to move everything safely without issues. There’s only about 92 GB of free space on the 500 GB drive, so I should be able to transfer all files and OS to the 120 GB SSD without problems. Please let me know if you can help. Thank you!

You can utilize smart cloning tools such as HD Clone 4 or even an older Symantec Ghost version. You might also try Clonezilla, though I haven't used it before. Visit the links for more details: http://clonezilla.org/ and http://www.miray.de/products/sat.hdclone.html

They asked if you've tried Samsung Magician before and explained its functionality clearly.

I haven't tried the Samsung software yet, but I reviewed the website you mentioned. It appears it can transfer data from a larger SSD to a smaller one without any problems.
